After looking again at the site below we have not proceeded with this due to the following issues.
1.  Security:  The Site has been used by others, before and since closure as a "Dogging" site.  When we last looked at it there were ponographic magazine pictures on the nature trail boards and it was obvious that the site was still being used as a sexual gratification trail.  Grafitti on the walls of the vandalised toilet block indicated that it was sitll being used as a "dogging" site and as a "pick-up" location.
The Police were informed of our findings on the site and they said they would look into the matter.  3 months later we are still awaiting their letter.  A vigilantie group were also posting on the net that they would attack anyone they found on the site that they considered we up to no good.
2.  One of the points that was brought up in discussion with the council's representative was that they didn't want the site access closed to the public when we were not using it as a rally site or as a certificated site.  He said he still wanted the "Dog Walkers" to be able to access the site.
3.  This situation and the potential cost of making the site secure if we managed to get it closed to the public makes this site unviable for our use.
4.  Our members were of the opinion that they would not feel safe using this site.

2 July 2009.  We are looking at a former council picnic area in the south of County Durham with a view to using it as a 5 van Certificated Caravan Site and Camping Site for use by our members.  So far the response to our enquiries has been positive.  More infomation as we are able to release details.  Our members are kept informed on developments.  Why not join us and get the information first.

Spa Night at John & Joans, Annfield Plain on  Saturday 18 April at 18:00 onwards was enjoyed by those that attended.

At the AGM on 30 March 2009.  It was decided to reorganise the club as a Company Limited by Guarantee to safeguard the interests of our members.  Each members liability will be £1.  The application was submitted to Companies House on 14 April 2009

TROCs Christmas Party was held on Saturday 29 November at John and Joans.  We enjoyed a spa night with Hot Tub and Sauna as well as plenty of food and drinks.  Some members stayed overnight and Joan provided a full English breakfast on Sunday morning.  We has a hot tub before breakfast.

Tan Hill went with a bang.  The event went well but conditions were wet and early on Sunday morning we were hit by a storm of  70mph which damaged John and Joans Motorhome. A strong gust ripped the awning and safari-room off and in the process damaged the satelite dish and TV antenna.  Ian was parked nearby in his trailer tent, but being protected by the quary wall suffered no damage.
The events - The walk on the Penine Way on Saturday morning was enjoyed by those that took part.  They were wet to the skin but still some brave ones stripped off for photos in the waterfall at Keld.  The pub had a section that was naturist from Friday evening to Sunday Lunchtime.  The Saturday evening meal and entertainment were very good.

We are back from Nudefest2008.  It was windy and cold most of the time and very wet for the actual event.  Everyone however seemed to enjoy themselves.  I heard on the grapevine that Castle Howard also went well.   Next committee meeting is Tuesday 10 July.

Nudefest2008 and Castle Howard are about on us.  Some members will be at both events which are on the same day.

All current members should have recieved, by email, the minutes of the committee meeting held on Tuesday 3 June.  Feedback would be appreciated if you wish ro raise anything about the club.

The Bank Holiday at Lakeland went well.  It was dry and warm but windy.  You could get shelter on the beach side of the dunes and we had a bonfire clearing up rubbish brought in by the tides.  A few more members attending would have been better.

Saturday 17 May was John and Joans wedding.  Club members  in attendance enjoyed the day.

The early may bank holiday saw us at Solway Club for the SANER AGM.  This was poorly attended by the regions clubs.  John finished up agreeing to be Regional Secretary and Joan agreed to be Regional Treasurer.  Much sorting out of the business of the region is needed.

We have just been informed today 18 March 2008 that the club in adition to its existing paragraph 4 and paragraph 6 exemptions, been granted paragraph 5 exemption under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act (1960).  This means that we are now able to set up sites called "Certified Sites" like the Caravan Club and the Camping & Caravan Club.  These site are restricted to 5 caravans at any one time with a limited stay of 28 days maximum. If space permits tents and trailer tents can also use these sites.  There are few small clubs that have been granted this status. The status of an exempted organisation confers on us the right to rally or set up a caravan site without the need for planning permission or a site licence.

The meeting at Northampton went well,  Child and vunerable adult issues were discussed.  Data protection issues were discussed.  The issue arising from lack of members voting in elections and/or sending in proxies for the AGM were discussed. only just under 2,000 votes out of 14,500 were sent in for last years elections and only about 400 votes were cast including proxies at last years AGM.  A proposal is to be put that will allow proxies to be sent direct to BN HQ instead of the present method of having to find someone to carry your votes. Met up with Graham & Ann in their Hymer S700.  They were also using the same C&CC CS as ourselves.

BN looks like it will be seeking an exemption certificate in its own right and may be setting up its own chain of CS sites.

John & Joan will be attending the BN Clubs meeting in Northampton on Saturday 8 March.

The last Swim & Sauna session took place in Sunderland on Friday 29 February.  This Pool is about to close and so far we have not found another suitable venue.

We have been approaching the local planning authorities throughout Nothumberland, County Durham,  Tyne and Wear, North Yorkshire and Cumbria to check that they have not issued any orders on land within their area that would prevent the use of the land for use by exempted organisations.  We have had much good feedback from this exercise.

We have now applied to Natural England to extend our exempted status to include Para 5 which will allow us to Certify Sites as suitable for use by our members,  This will mean if granted that we will be able to aproach landowners to set up CS site like the "Caravan Club" and the "Camping & Caravan Club) throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

John & Joan had a visit to Tan Hill on Tuesday 12 February to asses its potential as a site for a rally.  More info later.

John & Joan went to Dalton Swim on Saturday 9 February.  This is run by Lakeland Club and while in the area they had a look at the club's site as a potential rally site.  This is a remote site with a long access road through the dunes.  It is suitable for self contained Campers and Caravan/Motorhome units.  It has no facilities at all and the drinking water supply/waste disposal is about 1 mile away at the farm.  The site is a SSI so no development whatsoever is permitted.  see www.loc.ic24.net/  Those members we spoke to seemed favourable to a club visit.  More info later
