Three Rivers Outdoor Club was formed in 1982 as an unincorporated club.
There are just over 400 Caravan and Camping Clubs in the United Kingdom which hold exemption Certificates under schedule 1 of the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act (1960).
The Camping & Caravanning Club, the Caravan Club, and the Civil Service Motoring Association Limited, were the only ones to be listed as having all three Caravan exemptions, plus camping exemptions. Our club has now joined this list from March 2008.
From October 2008 The parent body for naturism in the UK. The Central Council for British Naturism trading as British Naturism has also joined the list
We have Camping and Caravanning exemption certificates from Natural England (DEFRA) under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act (1960) and The Public Health Act (1936). This allows us to arrange Rallies for up to 5 Days under Para 4 or up to 28 days Para 6.
We were granted exemption under paragraph 5 on 18 March 2008. We are now enabled to Certify Sites for use by our members without the need to obtain formal planning permission or obtain a site licence.
This means that in most cases we do not need to apply for planning permission or obtain a site licence for our activities.
